Background

The permanent tsb House Price Index measures the movement of house prices each month in the Republic of Ireland. Compiled in association with one of the country's leading research institutes, the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), the index is widely regarded by economists, media commentators and politicians as the most authoritative measure of house price changes in the country. The index has tracked house prices since 1996.

We publish the index on a monthly basis with a quarterly report issued in April, July, October and January. A special publication is issued in July and January to analyse movements over the first six months of the year and the full year respectively.
